Sahora Solutions ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Checkout mobile application and the Checkout web dashboard (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Services.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and role within your organization (e.g., cashier, manager, admin).

Transaction Data

We process and store sales transactions, including product details, quantities, prices, discounts, payment methods, and receipt information. This data is stored on a per-business (tenant) basis.

Device Information

When you submit feedback through the app, we may collect basic device information (device model, app version) to help diagnose issues. This is only collected with your explicit consent.

Camera Data

The Checkout app uses your device camera solely to scan QR codes during employee onboarding. No images or video are stored or transmitted. The camera is only activated when you navigate to the QR scanning screen.

2. Device Permissions

The Checkout mobile app requests the following permissions:

• Camera – Used exclusively for scanning QR codes during employee onboarding. No images are stored.
• NFC & Bluetooth – Used for contactless payment processing via Stripe Terminal (Tap to Pay).
• Location – Required by payment processors (Stripe, Google Pay) for transaction verification and fraud prevention.
• Internet – Required for syncing data with Firebase, processing payments, and accessing your business inventory.
• Vibrate – Used for haptic feedback during payment and scanning interactions.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Process point-of-sale transactions and generate receipts
• Manage product inventory and stock levels
• Process payments through supported payment gateways
• Provide sales reports and business analytics
• Manage employee accounts and access permissions
• Respond to feedback and improve our Services

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Google Firebase / Firestore, which runs on Google Cloud infrastructure. All data is isolated on a per-tenant (per-business) basis, meaning your business data is never accessible to other businesses using our Services. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

5. Third-Party Services

We integrate with the following third-party services to provide our functionality:

• Google Firebase – Authentication, data storage, and analytics
• Stripe – Credit card and contactless payment processing
• Google Pay – Mobile wallet payment processing
• WiPay – Regional payment processing (Caribbean)

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing their handling of your data. We encourage you to review their policies.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the third-party services listed above as necessary to provide our Services (e.g., sending payment details to Stripe to process a transaction). We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our Services. Transaction records are retained for accounting and legal compliance purposes. You may request deletion of your personal data by contacting us at the email address below. Upon receiving a verified deletion request, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us so we can promptly remove it.
